It was another great and exiting event, where we had the opportunity to grace the people of Bamenda with beautiful poems, spoken words and great music all centered around one theme: PEACE.

It was our own way at The Greens to celebrate the International Peace Day. After the massive online campaign, we had a peace talk on Abakwa FM 99.0 on Saturday 24th September 2016, where together with the entire population of Bamenda and its environs, we discussed on the challenges we had with respect to peace and how we all could strive towards peace and harmony in our society, so that together, we will spearhead the development of our community.

After this inspiring radio talk show, we all converged at Blue Pearl Hotel Bamenda under the banner of Black Swagger Poetry Slam organized by La Liberte Arts Group, The Greens, Y’ems Group and F2 Productions on the 25th September 2016, to celebrate peace through poetry, spoken word and music.

Words cannot explain the experience at this event that was graced by veteran poets like Dr Gladys Ngwi of The University of Bamenda, Dr Fai Donatus Tangem, lecturer at The University of Yaounde I, poet and actor, Mr Vuga Samson Vibimi popularly known as “Grand Pa” and doubles as an actor and movie director.

This event equally saw the performances of local talented artists like Vanilla City, Aretas, and Tee Nellz that all celebrated peace through music.
