Black Swagger Poetry Slam - June 2016
It was another enriching, educative and fun filled experience as The Greens in partnership with Y’ems Group, CCESN, Sisters Speak 237 and African Dream Network joined La Liberte Arts Group to continued to commemorate and celebrate the World Environment Month (World Environment Day and World Day to Combat Desertification) through poetry, music, CREVIA, jokes and spoken word on the 26th of June 2016 at the Blue Pearl Banquet Hall for the June edition of Black Swagger Poetry Slam under the theme; “Environment”
The magnificent and creative monthly event this time around saw the participation of over 150 poetry lovers among which was the Regional Delegate of Environment, Nature Protection and Sustainable Development; Mr. Muma Henry and the veteran Actor, Writer and Poet Mr. Tangie Peter Suh Nfor who doubles as Principal of Government Bilingual High School Bamenda.
The people who thronged the event were thrilled with outstanding performances from great artists like The Greens’ Ambassador - Awu, Shura and Shola as well as were left in awe with amazing poems from big poets like Lizette, Anna, Bigi and Conrad.
Then came the great theater dramatization from La Liberte Arts Group which left the audience spellbound as well as Creative Arts Trivia from Yembe and jokes from Miguel.
The event of exquisite creativity that lasted for over 3 hours was yet another opportunity for us at The Greens to promote “Arts for Conservation”, as well as engage ourselves and youths from our community to happily join us in our quest for global environmental sustainability.
